Too Much Sun Turns the Reason

How pretty, watch the birdie.
Watch out for trees. They're in the sidewalk.
People are skirting, dogs encircling,
cats climbing up trunks and running to the end
of branches on Christmas. July, the equator.
Ask your permanent guest to stay.
She will walk the dog. See you later.
Come August, come longest.
First snow of the season leaves no room to argue.
Watch the bird defend his reasons.
The tips are snapped! Rocks are broken!
Run water backwards until the dregs come to surface.
The permanent house guest arrives.
Ask her if she's thirsty.
We begin to unravel a mystery.
She watches our child grow like us.
Have plenty and please don’t.
